Why is Generation Z the luckiest generation?

Individuals from Generation Z (Gen Z) are born between 1995 and 2012 so they are kids, teens, and adults in their 20s. A generation is a group of people born during a period of time and has a shared age and experience. They may be part of the same “basket” but are not the same on an individual level, so stereotyping must be avoided. This is due to the existence of different cultures and lifestyles, so it’s hard to say that everyone lives the same life. This also shows how diverse we are as a population.

Gen Z differs a lot from other generations, we have a completely different mindset compared to other generations. When it comes to gender identities, Gen Z is more diverse and comfortable, which is one reason we’re so lucky. As we all know non-heterosexual people went through a lot long ago. Here are some other examples that support the fact that Gen Z is the luckiest generation.

As mentioned above, when it comes to gender identity Gen Z is the most diverse and comfortable generation when it comes to that particular topic, we now have people who use the they\them pronouns, who identify themselves as gender fluid, non-binary which make them more comfortable in their skin and hopefully more confident.

When it comes to healthcare, one simple example would be the availability of COVID 19 vaccines to the population. Even if they do not protect us completely from the virus, we are lucky to be able to have some sort of defense against this virus.

With technological advancements, we are now having access to 5G and enhanced connectivity which gives us a better internet connection meaning that we can load pages online and videos on Youtube much faster than usual. According to itproportal.com, 5G and other advanced, high-speed networks allow all of us to access billions of information in a matter of seconds.

Technical advancements also gave rise to the use of cryptocurrency which is basically money online. It is a digital ledger that is decentralized that is, it is not regulated by the government, which keeps track of any information through a network of computers. This technology is used in the healthcare, supply chain and it also made a lot of people rich.

But these days, a lot of teens from Gen Z are suffering from different mental health issues like depression and anxiety. I personally think that this rise is due to the mental illnesses being romanticized online and regular exposure to these really affects the mind. (I made it really short here, to have a proper explanation, we need to go more in-depth). We are also experiencing war in different countries (#FreePalestine), and a high rise in the level of pollution.

As a guy from Gen Z, I personally think that it is our duty as the population of tomorrow to make the world a better place for ourselves, the generation before us and, for the ones coming later.
